Poster and oral presentations  

 

General Information
The EAOPD board invites to submit abstracts to be considered for poster presentation at the annual congress of the EAOPD (August 29 & 30, 2025 – Basel, Switzerland). Abstracts should report completed research investigations or clinical cases that contribute to education, research, and/or clinical practice. 

Award
All presenting authors of accepted abstracts will participate in the “EAOPD Best Poster Award” competition. The price attached for the competition is free admission for the next EAOPD congress.

Early Career Researcher (ECR) oral presentation
Junior researchers presenting research undertaken as part of Masters or Doctorate level research, could also apply for Early Career Researcher (ECR) oral presentation. The abstract will be judged by the Scientific Program Committee (SPC) and the best abstract will be selected for a 15-minutes oral presentation within the plenary session. The applicants shall submit the abstract by e-mail, indicating whether it is to be considered for ECR oral presentation. Each participant may submit only ONE abstract for the ECR oral presentation. Additional abstracts may be submitted for the poster presentation, but not for consideration of the ECR oral presentation.

Submission Deadline
All abstracts must be received by May 15, 2025. They should be submitted by email to the SPC Chair, Rosaria Bucci at science@eaopd.org. The SPC Chair will confirm receipt of the abstract within two weeks. If you do not hear from SPC Chair we kindly ask you to send a follow up email.

Notification
The presenting author will be informed by email regarding the acceptance or rejection of the abstract by June 15, 2025. Please specify the e-mail address of the presenting author in the abstract. The presenting author of an accepted abstract must register for the meeting by June 30, 2025 and is required to be present at the requested time by the organizing scientific committee.

Criteria for Selection
-Abstracts must be original scientific material that has not been previously published or
presented at any other national or international meeting.
-The SPC will give high preference to original clinical or basic research abstracts of
Randomized Controlled Trials and Observational Studies (Cohort study, Case control
study).
-Case reports may be accepted only if the scientific committee determines that the
material presented is of high interest and high quality information.
